This custom media console cabinet was handcrafted from solid ash wood, finished in a rich, darker tone using a natural non-toxic hard wax oil. Designed as a freestanding piece on a solid plinth base, it offers a refined and substantial presence in any living space.

This particular piece was a fully custom commission, spanning 10 feet in length, designed in collaboration with an interior designer to fit a specific living room wall. The brief called for a media console table that could anchor a large space while also providing dedicated display storage for the client’s teacup collection — a design challenge that shaped every decision from layout to finish.

The console features three distinct sections, each serving a specific storage purpose. The leftmost section houses a concealed push-to-open cabinet with adjustable shelving — ideal for storing media equipment, cables, or everyday items out of sight. The center section combines a push-to-open drawer on top with a lighted glass door display cabinet below, perfect for showcasing a collection or decorative objects. The rightmost section mirrors the left with a second concealed push-to-open cabinet and adjustable shelving, providing ample hidden storage.

Every detail of this wood media console was designed with both function and aesthetics in mind. The push-to-open mechanism eliminates the need for hardware entirely, giving the piece a seamless, clean look that works equally well in modern and transitional interiors. The lighted interior of the glass door display cabinet adds warmth and visual depth, drawing attention to whatever is placed inside.
