From Seeds to Flowers

When we moved into our home three years ago, our yard was nothing but dirt, weeds, trash and scrubby mesquite.

Now, it’s grass, flowers, dirt, weeds and scrubby mesquite! 🙂 But it has taken SO MUCH work to make these small changes.

As I was working on our landscaping a couple of years ago, I noticed how expensive potted plants were. This is with good reason! It is very hard to get things to grow, and takes a ton of patience to wait for something beautiful. So last year, I decided to try planting some flowers from seed. It felt like a total failure at the time. I must have put down hundreds of seeds and probably had 10 random flowers come up over the summer.

BUT, this year, it’s a totally different story! I guess that those 10 flowers must have dropped their seeds, and now I have SOOOO many beautiful flowers! They aren’t all exactly where I would like them (many made their way into the driveway, walkways, etc.), but I don’t care. They are way too beautiful to pull!

Sometimes patience is required to see our work pay off!
